Localized Radial Solutions for a Nonlinear P-laplacian Equation in R
We establish the existence of radial solutions to the p-Laplacian equation ∆pu+f(u) = 0 in R, where f behaves like |u|u when u is large and f(u) < 0 for small positive u. We show that for each nonnegative integer n, there is a localized solution u which has exactly n zeros.
متن کاملPositive radial solutions for p-Laplacian systems
The paper deals with the existence of positive radial solutions for the p-Laplacian system div(|∇ui| ∇ui) + f (u1, . . . , un) = 0, |x| < 1, ui(x) = 0, on |x| = 1, i = 1, . . . , n, p > 1, x ∈ R . Here f , i = 1, . . . , n, are continuous and nonnegative functions. Let u = (u1, . . . , un), ‖u‖ = ∑n i=1|ui|, f i 0 = lim‖u‖→0 f(u) ‖u‖p−1 , f i ∞ = lim‖u‖→∞ f(u) ‖u‖p−1 , i = 1, . . . , n, f = (f1...
متن کاملMultiplicity of solutions for a superlinear p-Laplacian equation
We consider quasi-linear elliptic equations involving the p-Laplacian with nonlinearities which interfere asymptotically with the spectrum of the differential operator. We show that such equations have for certain forcing terms at least two solutions. Such equations are of so-called Ambrosetti-Prodi type. In particular, our theorem is a partial generalization of corresponding results for the se...
متن کاملSolutions with Dead Cores for a Parabolic P-Laplacian Equation
We study the solutions with dead cores and the decay estimates for a parabolic p-Laplacian equation with absorption by suband supersolution method. Special attention is given to the case where the solution of the steady-state problem vanishes in an interior region.
